Disadvantages:
Safety is a major concern when working with
toys. Some
problems that may be encountered are:

Choking on small pieces.

Sharp edges and corners can causes accidents.

Toys that need to be plugged in can raise safety concerns.

Some toys involve interaction between children and
can result in an increase in the noise level, which may be a problem for
other patrons in the library.

Conflict may arise between users; especially
two young children who want the same item.

Having toys as part of a collection may result in
parents or caregivers perceiving the library as a baby-sitter and leaving
children unattended.

May need additional maintenance such as cleaning and
disinfecting after each use.
